Token Plan Terms
Last updated: 26 October 2026
These terms apply when you subscribe to a Token Plan. They build on our Terms of Service, which cover pay-as-you-go use and continue to apply in full to your account, your API keys, acceptable use, your content, liability, and everything else they govern. This page only adds to them: where the two differ on a Token Plan, these Token Plan Terms win. Words defined in the Terms of Service mean the same here. By subscribing to a Token Plan, you accept both.
The subscription
A Token Plan is a monthly subscription. You pay the plan's price up front for each month, and in return your plan receives the credit shown for that plan when you subscribe. The subscription renews automatically every month on the same day, and we charge your saved payment method for each renewal until the plan is cancelled.
Plan credit is spent at each model's list price and only on what the plan covers, as described on the Token Plans page at the time of use. Some models are kept off Token Plans altogether — currently Claude Fable 5 and Claude Fable 5.1 — and plan API keys cannot call them. Anything a plan does not cover is billed on pay-as-you-go instead.
Plan credit
Plan credit belongs to the month it was granted for. Unused credit does not carry into the next month: on every renewal the balance resets to your plan's full amount. The one exception is an upgrade: when you move up to a larger plan, the credit you have left is kept and the new plan's full credit is added on top of it, and that balance resets to the new plan's amount at its next renewal. When a plan ends, any credit left on it is forfeited.
Plan credit is not a pay-as-you-go balance. It has no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, refunded, transferred to another account or organization, or moved onto a pay-as-you-go balance, and is only usable through the plan's own API keys.
Changing and cancelling your plan
You can move up to a larger plan at any time. The upgrade takes effect immediately, you pay the full price of the new plan that day with nothing prorated, and your new month starts from that day. You can move down to a smaller plan at any time; the change takes effect at your next renewal.
You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan keeps working until the end of the month you have already paid for, and then ends.
Token Plan payments are non-refundable. We do not refund a month that has started, whether or not you used its credit, and we do not prorate a cancellation, an upgrade, or a downgrade. If a renewal payment fails, your plan credit is paused until the payment is made.
If we do refund a plan payment, or a payment is reversed through a chargeback or dispute, the credit it paid for goes with it. If all of the current month's payment comes back, the credit left on the plan is removed and the plan ends immediately. If part of it comes back, the same share of that month's credit is removed from your balance. A refund or chargeback on an earlier month's payment, whose credit has already been replaced by a renewal, does not change your current credit.
One account per person
Each person may have only one account. You may not create, register, or use more than one account — whether under different names, email addresses, payment methods, or organizations — and you may not use someone else's account or let someone else use yours to hold another plan. Each account may hold one Token Plan at a time.
This applies in particular to anything that would let one person get more than one plan's worth of credit or benefits, such as subscribing to several plans through several accounts, or referring yourself to collect referral bonuses. If we find that one person is behind more than one account, we may treat all of those accounts as one, and act on all of them under the section below.
Fair use of a plan
A Token Plan is priced on the expectation that it is used by its subscriber within the plan's limits. You may not abuse a plan, including by:
- creating or using multiple accounts, as described above;
- reselling, sublicensing, or sharing plan credit or plan API keys with people outside your organization, or offering access to a plan as a service of your own;
- working around the plan's credit, its limits, or what it covers, or using it to obtain models or features it does not include;
- chargebacks or payment reversals on plan payments that were legitimately charged.
Our right to cancel your plan
We reserve the right to suspend or cancel any Token Plan, at any time and for any reason. In particular, we may do so if you breach these Token Plan Terms or the Terms of Service, if you abuse a plan — including by holding more than one account — or if we stop offering a plan or Token Plans altogether.
If we cancel your plan because you breached these terms, abused a plan, or created multiple accounts, the cancellation can take effect immediately, any remaining plan credit and referral bonuses are forfeited, and you are not entitled to a refund. We may also cancel every plan held through the accounts involved, close those accounts, and refuse to offer you a Token Plan in the future.
If we cancel your plan for any other reason, your plan keeps working until the end of the month you have already paid for, and we will not charge you again.
Cancelling a plan does not by itself close your account or end your pay-as-you-go use, unless we also terminate your account under the Terms of Service.
Changes to Token Plans
We may change what Token Plans cost, the credit they include, which models and features they cover, or the plans we offer. A change to the price or credit of a plan you hold takes effect from your next renewal after we have given you notice, and you can cancel before then. Changes to these Token Plan Terms are made in the same way as changes to the Terms of Service.
